The 1960 cohort was the last to graduate entirely from (La) Puente High School, before new high schools in the district began graduating senior classes. At the same time, the explosive growth of enrollments in the district resulted in the opening of numerous new elementary and junior-high schools. Also, some schools, such as Hudson, began printing professional-quality yearbooks for pre-high-school classes. Thus, the cohort of 1960 marks a convenient end-point for coverage by this website, Puente-elementary.

In 1956 the Hudson Husky was considerably upgraded, from the crude mimeographed version of 1955, to a professionally-printed publication containing photos in 1956. In essence, the 1956 version was a school yearbook.
